Your bridal hair questions, answered.

From understanding what works best for your hair type to planning a timeline that keeps your morning running smoothly, here are some common questions I help brides answer before their wedding day.

Choosing your hairstyle

Choosing your hairstyle

Typically, a version of most styles can work for most hair types. This is more of a custom answer that we will dig into during your preview, but if you are willing to use extensions or hair padding, then more often than not we can make every style work for almost any hair type (weather and other elements dependent though!).

One big thing to think through is your neckline. If your dress shows more chest, neck, or shoulders (think strapless or very thin straps), downstyles tend to provide more balance to your overall look. Dresses with higher necklines, scarves, and similar details usually feel a little more balanced with an updo. There are so many factors to this, but humidity, how your hair typically holds, and how dense your hair is are all factors that help determine up or down as well!

Yes! Well, they never hurt and always add value to your hair. If your hair does not hold a curl well or is on the finer side and you want a downstyle, or something big and voluminous, I would absolutely recommend extensions. I offer extension rental services so you can easily try them out at your preview appointment. No one has ever regretted extensions!

Absolutely, yes. Your inspo is solely used to give us a starting point and get a vibe for the styles you like. It will not look exactly like the photo in most cases, so we can absolutely combine elements from multiple, and it is one of my favorite things to do!

Definitely your veil, accessories, and jewelry. Also consider booking your makeup preview beforehand, or doing your own makeup before you come!

100% yes! Wash your hair either the night before or the morning of, and blow-dry it.

I recommend wearing a white top or dress with a neckline similar to your wedding dress.

Plan for about 2 to 2.5 hours for your appointment.

Hair previews are exclusively for reserved brides, as I cannot hold your date for an appointment due to high inquiry demand. You can book an event hairstyle if you would like a standalone appointment instead!

Wedding day

Plan for about 45 minutes per bridal party member (including bridesmaids, moms, etc.) and 1 to 2 hours for brides, depending on the style you choose. Styles like glam waves typically take around 1.5 to 2 hours.

Typically, with 8 people or more, an assistant is required to avoid a tight schedule or super early wake-up calls. The Luxe Bride package includes an assistant for this reason!

I prefer to style my brides 2nd or 3rd to last, and after makeup is complete.

Absolutely! We chat about all of this at your preview appointment as well. I will also gladly teach someone how to place the veil if that makes the most sense for your timeline or location needs.

Booking and investment

Booking and investment

Definitely now. As soon as you have a date is the time to start booking. I typically book brides 9 months to 1.5 years in advance.

You will get an automatic email confirmation, and within 48 hours you will receive a personalized email from me with pricing and booking information, or recommendations if I am not available.

Travel is $75 per hour and is calculated by the time driven to and from your location.

You can always add on additional hair services, but you cannot remove them after booking, so please only add guests you know for sure will get styling done. If the getting-ready location changes, that is okay, and I will requote the travel rate if needed as well!

If you feel your services were exceptionally great and you wish to provide gratuity, it is always appreciated but never expected! I would love it if you left a 5-star Google review for me as a form of gratuity.
